Sustainable fashion is a buzz word at the moment, but what does it actually mean?<\/p>

Climate change is wreaking havoc all around us. Whether you are in a part of the world experiencing drought or wildfires or flooding, we are all seeing and experiencing the effects of climate change.<\/p>

The fashion industry as a whole has a negative impact on the environment. The problems are in overproduction and waste, carbon emissions and water pollution, to name but a few.<\/p>

We all want to live and shop more sustainably, but how can we do that with fashion?<\/p>

Reuse, repair and recycle! A circular fashion economy.<\/strong><\/h3>

The three R\u2019s are a great way to start with sustainable fashion. By reusing and repairing garments we are prolonging their life and saving them from landfill.<\/p>

Buying second-hand clothing has never been easier. There are now some great second-hand clothing platforms (such as Vinted) which makes it easy for consumers to buy second-hand clothing and easy for the average person to sell clothing they no longer need.<\/p>

Repairing clothing was once a key skill, from darning socks to elbow patches, these are skills we need to relearn as a society. There are also loads of traditional and innovative ways to repair clothing. Check out this website<\/u><\/a> for loads of great tutorials.<\/p>

Some clothing, however, is just worn out. But, did you know that less than 1% of textiles and clothes are genuinely recycled into new garments?<\/p>

Buying products that use recycled materials from worn out textiles is a great way to support the planet, local communities and the sustainable fashion brands making this happen.<\/p>
